The 522 Fullam Tester

522 Systems is the premiere manufacturer of precision tensile strength testers. With a focus on quick setup and repeatable results, the 522 Fullam Tester is the gold standard for industry and universities to perform small-scale materials testing.

Our small form factor makes the family of 522 testers perfect for in situ testing inside the vacuum chamber of scanning electron microscopes (SEMs).

The 522 Fullam Tester comes with a fully integrated computer-control and data acquisition system. Outfitted with industry-standard load cells, the tester can be configured to record tensile or compression readings ranging from 1 to 2000 pounds (5 to 9000 newtons) of force. Sample deformation, such as elongation, compression, bending or fatiguing, is measured by high-precision optical extensometers with a resolution as small as 0.00001 inches (0.3 micrometers).

The machine crossheads, which hold the sample with one of a large selection of specimen grippers or anvils, are powered by a gear reduction servo motor that can be controlled from 500 to 5000 RPM.
